Raphael Kereto
Raphael is part of the Pardamat Community which is composed of indigenous Maasai people living in southern Kenya, bordering Tanzania. The population is about 900.
50% of this community are below the poverty line where they cannot afford meals and education. Initially this people depended on tourism activities to earn a living, but Covid, the drought and the Ukraine war have changed all that.
Raphael also works with the Pardamat School and helped to install a water tank there. He personally tends to 50 families or 250 people. 15 of the families are in dire straits
He feels that $1,500 would solve emergencies, but $5,000 is really needed.
